Spring is here and I am so thrilled for warmer weather, lush green scenery, and to spend more time outdoors. Colorado can never make up its mind on whether it wants to be spring or winter this time of year, so some days we are stuck in doors because it still gets really cold and snowy this time of year. So while we wait for warm weather I get ready for spring with some spring cleaning. I love being able to go into summer with a clean and decluttered home and since the kids get out of school next month I want to get all my deep cleaning done before they’re home, distracting me and keeping me busy.
The last few days I’ve been deep cleaning my kid’s bedrooms. Washing linens, cleaning out toy boxes, sorting clothes and shoes, and cleaning all the nooks and crannies in their rooms. It’s amazing how dirty and sticky their rooms can get. To help tackle their rooms I use Lysol Lemon Breeze All Purpose Cleaner Spray to clean their walls (goodbye crayon marks), baseboards, and dressers. Once I’m done with their rooms I’ll be tackling all the bathrooms in our house. Cleaning toilets, scrubbing showers, and making sure everything is clean. For the bathrooms I use Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner to get the toilets sparkling clean since it’s 10X cleaning power, removes the toughest stains in seconds and disinfects surfaces. For the counters, tub, and shower I’ll use Lysol Power & Free Bathroom Cleaner.
Next I’ll move onto the kitchen and clean out the pantry, wipe down shelves, and clean out the cabinets and wipe down shelves. Now is the perfect time to get rid of old bottle, sippy cups that are missing lids, or those tupperware containers with no lids. I’ll scrub down the walls, counters, and baseboards with Lysol Lemon Breeze All Purpose Cleaner Spray because it kills 99.9% of harmful kitchen bacteria without the harsh chemical residue other cleaners leave behind. I’ll also vacuum in between the floorboards, and give the floors a good scrub. In addition to using Lysol products to clean my home I add Air Wick Scented Oil Warmer’s to our rooms to keep them smelling fresh, Finish products to clean our dishes, and Woolite to get all our linens fresh and clean.
Spring is the perfect time to declutter. Sell or donate clothes and toys your kids have outgrown, throw away broken toys or toys with missing pieces, and purge everything you aren’t using in your life. Start the summer with a clean house and enjoy being able to soak up the summer sunshine with your little ones!
