How To Make Chamoy Jello Shots

For Mexican Candy shots, we’re using the 3oz box which calls for 1 cup of boiling water and 1 cup of cold water, but you will substitute the cold water for the tamarind vodka.

Pour the Jell-O powder into a bowl. Stir in 1 cup of boiling water and stir until Jell-O is fully dissolved. Add 1 cup of tamarind vodka. Mix well.

Take a plastic container and add enough Chamoy to the bottom of the cup to coat the bottom. Swirl it around so the bottom is evenly coated.

Add in some of the Jell-O mix to fill the cup about 3/4ths full.

Add a sprinkle of Tajin.

Cover with the lids.

Chill for about 2-3 hours or until the Jell-O is set.

When you’re ready to serve the Jell-O shots swirl the jello shot rim in Chamoy Rim Paste and give the rim a sprinkle of Tajin.

Note: If the rim paste is too thick add it to the microwave for 30 seconds to soften it up. Give it a good stir and then try dipping your cup. If you find the rim paste isn’t sticking to the cup you can add some of the rim paste to the top of the Jell-O and then sprinkle with tajin.

Enjoy your Mexican candy shot recipe!

How Long Are Jello Shots Good For?

They’re good for about a week in the fridge. Sometimes a little longer, but the Jello will start to break down.

How to Store Jello Shots

Jell-O shots should be stored in the fridge until ready to enjoy.

Can You Get Drunk Off Jello Shots

Yes. Of course, this is going to depend on your body and how it processes alcohol, but if you drink enough of them you can get drunk. Each jello shot has about 1/2 of a shot of alcohol in them so it would take about 2 jello shots to equal one regular shot.

How Do You Take a Jello Shot?

You can either run your finger around the inside of the cup to loosen the Jello prior to sucking it out of the cup or you can also do this with your tongue and then suck the jello out. You can also try giving the cup a squeeze to help loosen the jello and then suck it out.

What Jello Flavor to Use for Mexican Candy Jello Shots

The best flavors to use are Mango, Watermelon, Strawberry, or Peach, but you can use any fruit flavor you like!

Can You Use Different Alcohol?

Yes, you can use whatever alcohol you want. Tequila would also be good in this recipe or Mexican candy shots.
