Hocus Pocus Charcuterie Board

Hocus Pocus 2 is finally coming out and we had to celebrate with a Hocus Pocus snack board. We’re all out easy around here and this Hocus Pocus board took about 45 mins to put together, but you can skip some of these steps and make it quicker.

Hocus Pocus Charcuterie Board

If you browse around the internet you’ll find a bunch of charcuterie boards and they’re all filled with brie cheese, but I wanted to do something different and more kid-friendly. Our family loves to watch Hocus Pocus each year and this Halloween dessert board left my kids jumping for joy and I was able to support a local small business bakery in the process.

There are 3 treats on this board that I assembled, but I used store-bought ingredients and they were super simple to make! Cauldron brownie bites, witch hat cookies, and hocus pocus book Krispie treats will need to be made, you can find the simple steps below!

How to Make Hocus Pocus Book Rice Krispie Treats

  • Rice Krispie treats, store-bought is fine
  • Chocolate, melting wafers or chocolate chips
  • Candy Eyes
  • Black cookie icing

Melt your chocolate per the package directions.

Place a fork into the end of a Krispie treat and dip it in the chocolate fully coating it.

Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.

Place a candy eye on the Krispie treat while the chocolate is still melted.

Let sit for 5-10 minutes for the chocolate to harden.

Use cookie icing to decorate the Krispie treat.

Use a toothpick to make stitch marks with the cookie icing.

How to Make Cauldron Brownie Bites

I have a recipe for cauldron brownie bites on the blog, but these ones I made with store-bought brownie bites and canned frosting.

  • Brownie Bites, store-bought is fine
  • Frosting, green if you can find it otherwise use white and mix green and yellow gel food coloring into it
  • Halloween sprinkles, if you use the green Halloween frosting you can use the sprinkles it comes with

I used a small cookie scoop to place frosting on the brownie bite, but you can use a spoon or knife. You’ll want it in a dome shape.

Top frosting with sprinkles.

How to Make Witches Hat Cookies

  • Fudge Stripe Cookies
  • Canned Frosting, green and orange
  • Hershey’s Kiss
  • Halloween Sprinkles

Place canned frosting into a Ziploc bag and cut the tip-off.

Flip the cookie over, to the chocolate side, and place a circle of frosting around the hole.

Place Hershey’s Kiss on top, unwrapped.

Add sprinkles to the ring of frosting.

How to Make a Hocus Pocus Snack Board

Now let’s make our Hocus Pocus Snack board. Here are the items I used:

Of course, you can switch out any of these items to fit your wants or likes.

For the charcuterie board I picked up a coffin-shaped board from Target and it was the perfect size for us.

Wash and dry your fruit really well. For the apples, I soaked them in lemon juice and water for 5 mins to prevent them from turning brown, drained them, and dried them really well with paper towels.

Assemble your board as you see it. I would make the board right before serving, but you could make it an hour or two in advance and keep it in the fridge until ready to serve.

You could also make the treats a day before and keep them on the counter in an airtight container and then all you have to do the day of is assemble the board, which takes about 5-10 minutes.
