Celebrating the holidays during a pandemic

Sharing is caring!

This is a guest post brought to you by Basic Invite.

It’s July, and there’s one thing on everyone’s mind- the holidays! Okay, maybe I’m the only one with the holiday season on my mind in the middle of summer. But in the middle of a pandemic, I need something to cheer me up, so I’m planning for the holidays a bit early this year. I’ve decided that the best way to plan for the holidays this year is to accept that we may still be in quarantine by then. I’m not thrilled by this idea, but as they say, prepare for the worst, and hope for the best. Here a few ways I’m getting ready to celebrate the holidays while social distancing.

I love throwing a Christmas party every year, but unfortunately, I might not be able to have anyone over this time. Despite this, I refuse to cancel my party this year. Thanks to modern technology, I can host my party via Zoom! I’ve already got a few party games picked out that everyone can play virtually. Holiday bingo should be fairly easy to do over the internet, and so will 20 questions. Unfortunately, I can’t share food with everyone virtually. But with fun games and good company, I’m sure the party will go well.

Another way to celebrate the holidays is to send out holiday cards. This year, I’m getting cards with a photo of me and my dog on them. They’re going to be so cute! I always order my cards from Basic Invite. Basic Invite has some of the best designs I’ve seen, and all of their designs are customizable. You can change the color scheme, font type and size, and many of their designs also have foil options available. Customizing my Christmas cards each year is so fun, and is sure to make my cards stand out from all the others. I really love their holiday invitation templates and their unique Christmas cards designs. You should check them out, you won’t be sorry!

My final idea for social distancing this holiday season is to give everyone on my list gift cards instead of wrapped presents. Since I might not be able to give my friends and family gifts in person, gift cards seem like the way to go. Usually I’d be able to travel a bit during the holidays and give everyone their gifts. Mailing packages for everyone is going to be too expensive, but mailing gift cards in standard envelopes will be much more affordable.

I hope this gives you a few ideas on how to handle the holidays this year. I hope you all stay safe and healthy.
