Tips & Tricks for the Best Leftover Turkey Sliders
- Use Soft Buns: Hawaiian rolls are the top choice for these sliders. Their slight sweetness complements the savory turkey and tangy cranberry combo beautifully.
- Don’t Skip the Butter Topping: The buttery garlic-parsley topping makes the sliders golden, crispy, and packed with flavor.
- Add Gravy: Drizzle a little leftover gravy over the turkey for added moisture and flavor. Just don’t overdo it, or your buns might get soggy.
- Don’t Overbake: Keep an eye on these while they toast. You want the tops golden and the cheese perfectly melted.
How to Store Leftover Turkey Sliders
Storing in the Fridge: Wrap leftover sliders tightly in aluminum foil or store them in an airtight container. They’ll stay fresh for up to 3 days in the fridge.
Freezing for Later: Wrap each slider individually in foil, then place them in a freezer-safe bag. Freeze for up to 2 months.
Reheating: For fresh-out-of-the-oven taste, reheat sliders in the oven at 300°F (150°C) until warm. Cover them with foil to prevent drying out. If you’re short on time, you can microwave them for 20–30 seconds, but the buns might lose a bit of their toasty texture.
Variations & Substitutions
- BBQ Turkey Sliders: Swap out cranberry sauce for barbecue sauce, and add a layer of coleslaw for a smoky-sweet twist.
- Spicy Buffalo Turkey Sliders: Toss the turkey in buffalo sauce and top with blue cheese or ranch dressing. Bonus if you add a pickle slice!
- No Turkey? No Problem: These sliders work well with leftover chicken or ham, too!
Cheese Swap: Not a fan of Swiss? Try mozzarella, gouda, or pepper jack instead.
