Bunny Butt Cupcakes

Snowball bunny butts use store-bought snowball snack cakes. The brand doesn’t matter and you can change the color of your bunny bums depending on which snack cake colors are available. Around this time of year, I’ve found pink, purple, blue, and white before. My store had pink and it was the perfect color to make our bunny bum cakes.

Homemade Bunny Butt Cupcakes

If you don’t want to use store-bought cakes or you don’t like snowball cakes you can make your own homemade cakes. I would use a sphere silicone mold with my favorite cake mix. Then frost it and follow the directions below. When frosting the cake use your favorite frosting recipe or canned frosting. Leave it white or add some color. If you want a bunny fur texture adding shredded coconut can give that look or a piping tip.

How to Make Bunny Butt Cupcakes

Now let’s get started on our bunny bum cupcakes. This recipe takes about 5-7 minutes to put together, maybe even quicker. The hardest part is going to be melting the chocolate and that should be done in under a minute.

To make your bunny butt cupcakes you’re going to need:

  • Snowball Snack Cakes
  • Bunny Feet Icing Decorations
  • White chocolate candy melts or chocolate chips, about 1-2 tablespoons of melted chocolate depending on how many cakes you make
  • Marshmallow, regular sized ones

How to Make Easter bunny butt cupcakes

You don’t need much chocolate to make this recipe. Like a tablespoon of melted chocolate. I made these at the same time as my Easter Bunny Bark and used some of the melted chocolate from that to attach the tails and feet. You could also use frosting, but I find that doesn’t harden as quickly.

Melt the chocolate in the fridge for 30 seconds. Stir. If not fully melted then melt at 10-second intervals, stirring in between until melted.

Unwrap your snack cakes.

Cut a marshmallow in half.

Place some melted chocolate on the sticky side of the marshmallow and attach it to the snowball cake. Hold the marshmallow in place for 5-10 seconds for the chocolate to harden a little.

Holding the tail and feet in place for a few seconds helps to ensure that the items don’t slide off. The small amount of chocolate dries pretty quickly so you don’t have to hold the item in place for long.

Get 2 bunny feet and repeat the same process as the tail. Make sure the toes on the feet are pointing down.

All done! Enjoy your easy bunny butt cupcakes.
