Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed that Kids Can Make

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and it’s such a special day to spoil mom a little bit. Mom should be spoiled all year long, but Mother’s Day is the one day where you can really dedicate it to mom. Give her the day off, do something special for her, and give her breakfast in bed. My kids are at the ages where they’re starting to get interested in cooking, but they’re still too young to use any major appliances on their own. If your kids are like mine then they want to give mom breakfast in bed, but it has to be something easy that they can make on their own or with a little adult supervision. Anything my kids make I will be thrilled to receive, so for the sake of Mother’s Day and kids making breakfast in bed I wanted to give a few suggestions that are delicious and easy enough for kids to do on their own!

There are so many breakfast dishes that are very easy to make and super kid friendly like a breakfast sandwich. There are so many different ways that you can make them that don’t require any cooking and here are my top 3 using Thomas’® Pre-sliced Plain Bagels, which are a favorite of mine.

Thomas’ Bagel with peanut butter, banana, and chocolate chips.*

Thomas’ Bagel with cream cheese, avocado, and tomato.*

Thomas’ Bagel with cream cheese, turkey, and spinach.*

*There is some slicing involved, but my kids have been able to master that with a butter knife so they don’t cut themselves or have someone do the slicing for them. You’ll want to have someone toast the bagels for them (unless you trust them to use the toaster alone) and then you can have them dress the bagels up for what they think mom will love.

No breakfast in bed is complete without a dessert and a Pound Cake Parfait is the perfect treat for mom on a special day. No cooking is required and the kids can easily assemble it.

For the Pound Cake Parfait you’ll take a Sara Lee® Pound Cake All Butter (found in the desserts freezer section), whipped topping, and fresh berries. To get started you’ll need to slice the pound cake and cut into chunks and rinse the berries and let dry. To assemble you’ll add the pound cake chunks to a dish, top with berries, and add some whipped topping on top. Very simple, very delicious, and kid friendly!

You can get all your Thomas and Sara Lee products and other supplies at your local Walmart for convenient shopping!

This Mother’s Day Tyson wants to celebrate mom with the Tyson Mother’s Day at Walmart sweepstakes. Shoppers who participate in this contest will be entered for a chance to win one out of five $200 Walmart gift card.

AWESOME ideas. My birthday is coming up and my kids want to do something for me. Making me breakfast would be perfect. Thanks for the ideas.
