One of my beauty routine regimens aside from taking care of my skin and hair is taking care of my teeth. I’ve always been told I have a nice smile and I want to ensure it always stays nice and that my teeth stay in tip top shape. I always go with a tooth paste that helps protect my teeth, but also has a whitening power in it so that I can make sure my teeth stay healthy.

About Tooth Enamel

The enamel on your teeth is the hardest and most highly mineralized substance in your body. It covers the outer layer of each tooth, and it is the most visible part of the tooth. The enamel is made up mostly of minerals, primarily hydroxyapatite. The color can vary from light yellow to grayish white. Because it is semi-translucent, it is only partially responsible for the color of your teeth.

Enamel plays a very important role in protecting your teeth from decay, but once it is destroyed, your body does not make more to replace it. Unlike other parts of your body — like your bones — enamel does not contain any living cells, so it cannot regenerate which is why it’s so important to protect it. You can also protect your enamel by practicing good oral hygiene habits, such as regular brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, flossing, and visiting your dental professional for regular professional cleanings.
