TikTok Frozen Gummy Bears

TikTok Frozen Gummy Bears

Frozen gummy bears have taken over social media, and it’s no surprise why—they’re a ridiculously easy, satisfyingly chewy treat perfect for warm afternoons or whenever you need a refreshing snack.

Part of their allure is how simple they are to make. No fancy ingredients and no kitchen skills are required. All you need to do is grab your favorite gummy bears, toss them in the freezer, and you’re set. But it doesn’t stop there. What’s making them viral is the surprisingly chewy texture you get. They’re no longer just gummy but are slightly more challenging to bite into, cooler, and uniquely fun to eat.

Ingredients:

  • Regular Gummy Bears
  • Sprite

Directions:

Start by placing the gummy bears in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Pour Sprite over them until they are fully covered.

Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge. Allow the gummy bears to soak for at least 8 hours or leave them overnight.

Line a 9×13 baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.

Put on rubber gloves and carefully scoop out the gummy bears from the bowl. Gently shake each one to remove excess liquid before placing them on the prepared baking sheet.

Arrange the gummy bears, so they have a little bit of space between them. They shouldn’t be touching but shouldn’t be spaced too far apart.

Place the tray in the freezer and freeze the gummy bears for about three hours or until completely frozen.

Once frozen, they’re ready to enjoy!

Tips & Tricks for Viral Frozen Gummy Bears

  • Freeze Evenly: Spread the gummy bears out on a flat tray or baking sheet before placing them in the freezer. This ensures they don’t clump together and makes them easier to grab later.
  • Experiment with Freezer Times: Depending on how chewy or hard you want them, play around with the freezing time. For a softer chew, leave them in for about 2-3 hours. For a firmer, almost candy-like texture, freeze overnight.
  • Try Gummy Bear Mix-Ins: Before freezing, get creative by tossing your gummy bears with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, citric acid for extra sourness, or even edible glitter for a fun, sparkly twist.
  • Pair Them with Drinks: Frozen gummy bears aren’t just for snacking—they make the perfect garnish for drinks too! Drop them into a chilled soda, cocktail, or even lemonade for a colorful, flavorful surprise.

How to Store Viral Frozen Gummy Bears

  • Use Proper Containers: Airtight plastic containers or sealed freezer bags are your best bet for maintaining flavor and texture.
  • Remember the Label: If you’ve made different flavors or infusions, labeling will save you guesswork later on.
  • Optimal Storage Time: Frozen gummy bears are best enjoyed within 2–3 months. After this, they might start losing their signature chewy texture.

Variations & Substitutions

  • Sugar-Free Frozen Gummy Bears: For a healthier twist, use sugar-free gummy bears. They freeze just as well and offer a guilt-free snacking option. Mix with Diet soda.
  • Mix and Match: Combine different gummy bear flavors to create your own custom frozen blend. The flavor combinations are endless!
  • Gelatin-Free Alternatives: If you’re catering to dietary preferences, look for vegan gummy bears made with pectin instead of gelatin. They can also be frozen for a delightful treat.

Toppings Galore: Sprinkle your frozen gummy bears on top of yogurt, oatmeal, or even pancakes for a fun and unexpected twist.

Ingredients

  • 8 Ounces Regular Gummy Bears
  • 16.9 Ounces Sprite

Instructions

    1. Place the gummy bears into a medium mixing bowl and pour the Sprite over the top.
    2. Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for 8 hours or overnight.
    3. Line a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper.
    4. Using rubber gloves, gently scoop the gummy bears out and lightly shake them over the bowl so it gets rid of some of the excess liquid.
    5. Place the bears on the prepared pan and line them up so they have just a wee bit of space in between each one (as long as they’re not touching, that works).
    6. Place in the freezer for 3 hours or until frozen through. Enjoy!

    Notes

Keep in the freezer, in a covered, airtight container for up to 1 week. Be careful to not let them melt much outside the freezer before putting them up or they will freeze together. You can still eat them this way, but it’s a bit more challenging.
