CVS Pharmacy opened it’s doors in the Bay Area, California a few years ago and I quickly fell in love with their store model and presence. When we moved back to Colorado I was thrilled that CVS Pharmacies were popping up in Target locations across Colorado and was secretly hoping this would mean they would open CVS Pharmacy stores in the Denver Metro area. Well my wishes have finally been granted and CVS Pharmacy has finally landed it’s first store in Parker, Colorado. I was asked to attend the grand opening and jumped at the chance to attend because I was so excited that CVS was finally here and it wasn’t too far from where we live.
It you’re not familiar with CVS Pharmacy you would think that they’re just another drug store where you can pick up prescriptions, health and wellness items, beauty products, and drinks and snacks, but you’d be wrong. CVS Pharmacy is different from other drug stores because their goal is offer the community convenient access to best-in-class pharmacy services and a shopping experience truly dedicated to helping people on the path to better health. They offer the best assortment of health, beauty and wellness products and better-for- you snacks in one convenient place.
In 2014 CVS Pharmacy rocked headlines because they were the first retail pharmacy to remove tobacco products from it’s shelves. As someone who lost a very close family member to lung cancer from smoking, this really speaks to me and it’s something I support 100%. Not only have they removed tobacco products from their stores but they strive to offer their customers better for you products from shelves at the front of the store stocked with healthier snack options, removing all sun care products with an SPF lower than SPF 15, a wide variety of on-trend and natural beauty products, and making sure that the health products they carry are high quality.
I love spending my money at a company who cares about their customers and CVS Pharmacy continues to make changes to their stores and products so that they’re they best for their customers. CVS Pharmacy offers a wonderful rewards program called The ExtraCare Rewards program and it’s the longest running retail rewards program in the drugstore space. ExtraCare Rewards is free to sign-up for and you’ll get special offers and coupons and easy paper-free options to use rewards, discounts, and get receipts. In addition to getting 2 percent back in ExtraBucks Rewards every time members use their card, customers can also opt-in to earn Beauty ExtraBucks Rewards, where you can earn $5 for every $50 spent in beauty, as well as Pharmacy; Health Rewards, which allows members to earn up to $50 each year by simply filling prescriptions at CVS Pharmacy. The CVS Pharmacy app (which is also free), allows patients to be notified when prescriptions are ready for pick-up and order refills digitally by importing their medication history or using the “Scan to Refill” feature that simply scans the prescription’s barcode and orders a refill in one easy step.
Not close to the Parker area? Don’t fret! CVS Pharmacy will be opening 2 other locations in the Denver Metro this Summer in Denver and Littleton. Plus they have plans to open a Colorado Springs location in 2018.
Disclosure: I partnered with CVS Pharmacy to bring you information on their new Colorado store location!
